It doesn't matter what you think of Facinators or Hats, they are here to stay, even after all of these years, it was about 3200BC when one of the first pictures of a hat appears in a Thebes tomb which depicts a man wearing a Coolie-type straw hat.

In 1529 AD - the word Milliner, a maker of Hats, was first recorded when the term referred to the products for which Milan and the Northern Italian regions were well known, i.e. Ribbons, Gloves and Straws. The Haberdashers who imported these highly popular Straws were called 'Millaners' from which the word was eventually derived.

I don't claim to be a Milliner at all, but I am teaching myself how to make Fascinators and small hats, and using Sinamay in the making of these items is as fascinating as designing and creating.

I would welcome any designs you care to throw my way and I'll do my best to keep my designs fresh and different.

Anyone who already knows me will know how diversified all my hobbies are, from my Photography to my Philately.

So keep watching and please buy one of my creations or even write to me with your own........

And please don't forget that if you see something you like but need another colour just ask......

I only started to learn how to make Fascinators in September 2013 and this was my very first one, please don't look too closely because it's terrible.

I learned my first lesson on this hat and that is -

To end up with a good hat you have to start by cutting it out properly...

In a few short weeks I have gone from the Pink hat above to these lovely creations and even more, I will be Diverse, I will be Different, but I promise you this, you will never have two hats the same from me.

I raided all of my craft boxes all over my house and I don't think I will need to buy anything for a while to come, so if you have anything that you own and want to see on a fascinator, just let me know and we'll see what we can do.

I also need to call my hats something so what better than to have names, girls names preferably, so I'd better get my name book out... even more work lol
